High-performance storage: Efficiency across every environment

Alsym’s Na-series NFPP+ technology delivers a 20-year service life and makes multiple cycles a day possible. Capable of >95% round-trip efficiency, the system is also deployable across extreme temperatures (-40°C to 60°C) without the need for active HVAC. This provides a more reliable solution for utility-scale, industrial, and microgrid applications that need to manage extraordinary ambient temperatures.

Alsym Energy Celebrates New Headquarters and Welcomes Yvonne Hao, MA Secretary of the Executive Office of Economic Development

The new location expands Alsym’s role in advancing non-lithium battery technology and boosts cleantech innovation in Massachusetts

Boston, MA – Oct. 30th, 2024 – Woburn-based startup Alsym™ Energy (Alsym), a developer of high-performance, non-flammable batteries for stationary storage, welcomed Yvonne Hao, Secretary of the Executive Office of Economic Development for Massachusetts, to its new 60,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility in Malden. Joining Secretary Hao were Under Secretary Ashley Stolba, Malden Mayor Gary Christenson, and representatives from Reading Municipal Light District, the office of Minority Whip Katherine Clark, MassMEP, and MassCEC. The group gathered to discuss Alsym’s ground-breaking technology and the benefits of the Massachusetts ClimateTech ecosystem.

During the visit, Alsym provided a tour of the office, R&D lab, and future manufacturing areas to showcase Alysm’s advancements in safe, high-performance, non-lithium, and non-flammable battery technology.

“Massachusetts is committed to leading in climatetech by investing in solutions that directly address climate change,” said Yvonne Hao, Secretary of the Executive Office of Economic Development. “We’re proud to have companies like Alsym Energy here making groundbreaking advancements in energy storage and reinforcing our state as a hub for sustainable technology.”

Alsym’s expansion brings new jobs to Malden and reinforces the region’s reputation as a leader in new battery technologies. The rise of alternatives like Alsym’s non-lithium batteries shows that it’s possible to meet urgent energy storage needs while prioritizing safety sustainability, and a U.S. supply chain.

“We are proud to welcome Alsym to Malden,” said Mayor Gary Christenson. “Their groundbreaking work in non-lithium battery technology reinforces our area as a hub for clean energy innovation and also addresses critical safety concerns associated with lithium-ion batteries, specifically fire risks. By driving advancements in safer, sustainable energy storage, Alsym is contributing to both the economic growth of our city and the development of solutions that will shape a more secure and sustainable future. We look forward to a successful partnership”

“The opening of our new facility marks a pivotal moment not just for Alsym, but for the future of energy storage,” said Mukesh Chatter, CEO of Alsym Energy. “Our mission is to deliver affordable, safe, and high-performance alternatives to lithium-ion batteries that are critical for the global shift to clean energy.
